Schedule, coordinate and supervise trade subcontractors and start-up/commissioning activities. This position reports to the Project Manager or Lead Superintendent. Plan and supervise trade subcontractor activities includes determining method of construction, required manpower levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked. May include interpretation of codes, design of specialty equipment, etc.


• Coordinate work between other subcontractors.
• Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
• Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.
• Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
• Maintain liaison with other departments (i.e., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.
• For Mechanical/Electrical Superintendent position, duties will include managing Equipment start up turnaround process.
• Implement the project’s QC Planning and inspection process.
• Participate in constructability reviews of design documents to help determine most cost effective and schedule efficient method of construction.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Job Requirements:

Educational and experience requirements include:
• Four (4) year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
• Minimum of eight (8) years supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, methods, equipment, tools and work procedures required.
• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and demonstrated ability to control and supervise large groups.
• Ability to read and interpret all documents, drawings and specification issued for performance of the construction work.
• Prior experience with Industrial (manufacturing, metals, assembly, food or chemical processing facilities) construction project scopes in excess of $15 M. While experience in other types of projects is an asset, significant industrial experience is desired.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Candidates with either general trade supervision or specific experience in the mechanical and electrical trades are desired.

Travel Requirements:

MUST be able to accept project assignments that may require extended long term temporary living arrangements or frequent travel to non-local job sites.


Individuals applying for this position should be able to multi task and work in a fast paced work environment and be willing to work overtime as needed.

May be responsible for managing all field aspects of a small project, with home office support.

Could be based in either Charlotte, NC or Greenville, SC.
